Yes! It can be helpful to talk through your project, needs, or feedback aloud. If you would like to set up a phone or video call to discuss your project at any point, the first hour is free. Every fifteen minute segment following the free hour will be billed at $10.

• I value and welcome collaboration whenever possible! We can go back and forth as your needs change, converse more deeply about the project you're working on, and brainstorm ideas together. Because I would have a more nuanced understanding of your project compared to an AI-powered service, I can even offer guidance on moving your project to publication or increasing readership. 

• I can offer feedback that is more attuned to the particularities of the audience you're addressing and/or the context of your project. 

• I focus on authorial intent and the patterns established in your project. Where an AI-powered service would recommend a single solution, I can offer multiple ways in which even something minor, like a comma, can be adjusted to achieve different ends, allowing you to retain authorial control over the editing process. 

• I bring an awareness of conversations around language politics and inclusion to my copyediting work. Ultimately, you will make the final decisions when it comes to your writing, but I can ensure that you have the most up-to-date information on contemporary terminology. You also won't have to deal with an AI-powered service misunderstanding your experimental use of language or trying to "correct" instances of AAVE in your text!

• You will become a better editor of your own writing through working with a human copyeditor. I will always explain my copyediting decisions when needed or, if I consistently make a change across your text, I will explain why I am doing so and what grammatical or spelling rule I am following for full transparency.
